Josh Dellios

Josh helps clients develop and maintain their social licence to operate. He helps deliver complex major projects, including developing and implementing land access and assembly strategies and assisting clients to obtain project approvals for environmental, planning, cultural heritage, water and regulatory matters.

He also regularly advises on biodiversity and carbon markets; climate change, nature positive, ESG and sustainability; compliance, regulator investigation and prosecution matters; circular economy and waste management; cultural heritage compliance and management; rehabilitation and decommissioning; contaminated land management; environmental licensing, and pollution control.

Josh has advised miners of critical minerals, mineral sands and gold, and extractive industry operators, on land access and assembly matters, approvals matters, regulatory compliance and rehabilitation matters. He also regularly advises industry through relevant industry bodies such as the Minerals Council of Australia.

Alex Other-Gee

Alex is a corporate energy and resources lawyer, with extensive experience advising on high value transactions and projects for international and domestic resources and energy companies and government bodies.

Alex advises on a range of commercial and operational matters across the industry including M&A, joint ventures, marketing and offtake arrangements, general corporate advisory and operational arrangements.

Alex advises across all sectors of the energy and resources industry, including on traditional resources, critical minerals (including battery metals) and renewables.

Simon Scott

Simon leads MinterEllison's Energy and Resources team. He uses his experience of more than 20 years across the energy and resources sector to assist clients to achieve their goals and to meet the challenges facing them. Over this time, he has worked on some of the industry's most significant projects, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and disputes, both across Australia and overseas.

Some of Simon's career highlights include:

- Stanwell Corporation: Advised on the $210M relinquishment to Coronado Curragh of its reversionary right to assume ownership of the Curragh North Mine and on the long term coal supply agreement for Stanwell Power Station in consideration for that relinquishment.

- Gloucester Coal/Yancoal: Advised on Gloucester Coal's $8 billion merger with Yancoal Australia via a scheme of arrangement.

- Recognised as a leading mining and natural resources lawyer in a number of directories, including Legal 500 Asia Pacific (since 2014), Best Lawyers (since 2009, including as 2019 Lawyer of the Year for Mining Law and 2020 Lawyer of the year Water Law Brisbane), Chambers Asia Pacific (since 2015), Acritas, Doyles Guide and Who’s Who Legal.
